Understanding Poverty
Thinking and acting together
The active participation of people living in poverty is essential to its eradication. Their lived experience and firsthand knowledge are key to understanding poverty and to developing effective, sustainable solutions.
This is a cornerstone of ATD Fourth World’s ethos, and the heart of our projects. Guided by those with lived experiences of poverty, we aim to create spaces where people can come together to share their knowledge and skills, growing peer-support networks that strengthen our collective voice and advance the issues that affect us all.
From People’s Universities to participatory research projects, our website explores ATD Fourth World projects that empower people to be equal partners in building a more inclusive society.
