ATD Fourth World has been active in Peru since 1987 and has ongoing projects in Cusco, Lima, and in the rural community of Cuyo Grande, Pisac.
Our objectives
To contribute to eradicating extreme poverty and social exclusion by recognizing the dignity of people living in persistent poverty and the importance of their knowledge and experiences. We aim to defend the human rights of all to ensure that no one is left behind.
What we do
- Facilitating Street Libraries and Field Libraries; that positively impact the lives of children and families in poverty
- Organizing Uyarinacusunchis, a space for reflection and discussion.
- Providing activities aimed at families– ‘Respiro Familiar’
- Promoting opportunities for volunteering and social responsibility as an effective means to achieve mutual goals through organized action.
- Partnering with organizations that share our commitment to collective societal responsibility in eradicating extreme poverty and social exclusion.
- Organizing October 17 celebrations to commemorate the World Day for Overcoming Poverty
