Behind the Scenes at a Fair-Trade Project in Madagascar
The fair-trade cooperative, Miasa Mianatra Miaraka (Working and Learning Together), has 26 Malagasy artisans employed in weaving, sewing, embroidery, carpentry, and basket-making. These six men and twenty women have all lived in extreme poverty. Now they have regular decent income, which enables them to provide for their families, keep their children in school, and plan for the future. In this video, several of them speak about how their lives have changed since joining the cooperative.
