IDEEP Webinar

April 1 @ 14 h 00 min - 15 h 30 min

Free

European Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) would like to invite you to a civic space Xchange on an very interesting and innovative participation tool: the IDEEP Tool for Inclusive and Deliberative Elaboration & Evaluation of Policies.

IDEEP has been created specifically for processes involving people in poverty; at the same time its methods and tools can be applied much more widely. This tool has been created based on practical experience, in partnership between the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights and the International Movement ATD Fourth World.

In the first part of the Xchange, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty Olivier De Schutter and colleagues from ATD Fourth World will present the meaning, essence and functioning of IDEEP. In the second part, there will be time for reflection and discussions.

This FRA civic space Xchange invites civil society organisations, academia, practitioners, as well as public servants to join for learning together.

The Webinar will cover:

  • What are the qualities and conditions for meaningful participation?
  • How can persons living in poverty participate meaningfully in decisions and policies that affect them?
  • How does the IDEEP tool work, and how can this tool make a difference in the European context?
  • How can you use the thinking and methodologies of the IDEEP tool in your own work – both with people in poverty as well as other people and groups experiencing social exclusion?

Speakers:

  • Olivier De Schutter, UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights
  • Beatriz Monje Barón, Coordinator IDEEP program, ATD Fourth World
  • Moderated by Wal Heller, FRA
